History
Watters Landscape Company was established in January 1993 by Ed Watters, President, as a design/installation company serving Rome, Georgia. Within a few months, seasonal maintenance services were added and an additional crew was formed.
In 1994, Scott Chatham joined Watters Landscape Company as Vice-President. The company moved to its current 12-acre location at 134 Silver Avenue and revenues reached $1.1 million.
1995 saw Watters Landscape Company expand its sales territory to include more of Northwest Georgia, including parts of Atlanta. A weekly maintenance division was added to service both commercial and residential clients
By 1996, the size of the company had grown to 28 employees. There were 6 crews servicing over 300 clients, with revenues of $1.9 million.
On January 1, 1997, Scott Chatham assumed a full partnership with Ed Watters and the company name was changed to Watters & Chatham Landscape. A second office opened in March at 235 Allatoona Dam Road in Cartersville, Georgia, expanding our services to both commercial & residential clients in the North Atlanta area.
In 1998, the company received two awards. The Associated Landscape Contractors of America (with approx. 1600 members) presented us with an Environmental Improvements Award of Merit for a Design-Build Residential project over $100,000. The Metro-Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association (with approx. 400 businesses) recognized us with the Grand Award for Environmental Design.
